Fran Seigel has represented award-winning artists to the international art and design community for over 20 years, providing top quality artwork for print reproduction. Projects include traditional and digital paintings for over 1100 book covers, artwork for hundreds of magazines, advertising and packaging assignments, as well as compelling images for licensed products. Although most of our work is from commissioned assignments, we can also meet your artwork needs through sale of reprint rights to existing imagery in our portfolios.

We welcome the opportunity to work with you, and invite you to telephone us to discuss artwork for your upcoming projects after your review of our online portfolios: Catherine Deeter, Mark Harrison, Stephanie Henderson, Ron Miller. A large number of additional visuals are also available for each artist via your inquiry and specific information provided.
THE COLLECTION
ETHNIC THREADS™ STOCK ART is a private collection of imagery including Borders, Panels, and Vignettes, which have been digitally adapted/cropped from exquisite vintage and antique textiles. All Ethnic Threads™ Stock Art images are one-of-a-kind, and each has likewise been created from a particular one-of-a-kind ethnic textile (from a collection gathered and researched over many years). The examples below show our process of creating Ethnic Threads™ Borders by digitally adapting selected motifs to a border format.

OUR SERVICES
We offer hard-to-find ethnic stock art imagery to meet your design needs for projects requiring distinctive ethnic visuals/ patterns, etc. Upon knowing your design criteria and your intended usage, we will search our Ethnic Threads™ Stock Art, and respond to you via email with low resolution jpegs of potentially useful images. You may request Ethnic Threads™ Stock Art as Borders, Panels and/or Vignettes. We can also respond to custom inquiries (specific shapes and sizes, entire textiles for prop usage, etc.)

See QUERY FORM to request imagery for your design needs. (We do not charge for low resolution images provided on first inquiry.)

ORIGINS AND PROVENANCE OF OUR COLLECTION
The majority of our Ethnic Threads™ Stock Art is derived from textiles originally created for domestic use from cultures around the globe. Most of these textiles date from the mid 1900's—although many are much older. Our ongoing collection is motivated by a deep regard for the artistry of the textiles and the lure of their exotic past lives. Many if not most of the textiles we collect and adapt to Ethnic Threads™ Stock Art, are hand-crafted in some way (woven, embroidered, stitched, or dyed, etc.) Many have been purchased by us in distressed or damaged condition and then digitally repaired or adjusted while retaining the integrity of the design motifs.

Provenance (time and place of origin) is provided under the caveat of “best information and belief” via data received from the prior owner (frequently the purchaser of the textile in its country of origin) and/or data received from professional sources.

INSPIRATION & INVITATION!
As our global society becomes simultaneously smaller and yet more complex, the power of pattern, texture, color and line—so apparent in the realm of the textile arts—can immediately communicate a sense of time and place. We welcome your “virtual travels” with us through the artifacts of far-away times and places, and hope you will find elements applicable for your design projects.
